BRUSSELS

This is my favorite city. Pedestrian streets everywhere and lots of gothic architecture in the churches and buildings. It is definitely worth it after a hard day of traveling. What was supposed to be a 3 hour ride from Koblez turned into an all day affair of getting lost numerous times. We left the hotel around 9am and stopped by the monorail so I could buy a snow globe for my collection. Then it was a stop at the Harley Davidson so David could add a tshirt to his neverending collection. Afterwards we rode along the Rhine river and marveled at castle after castle. A stop in Bonn for a delicious lunch served by a 3rd year law student who spoke perfect English. We left Bonn around noon and Google maps said it was a 2 hour ride however we did not arrive until 5pm. We only made 2 gas station stops but hit lots of traffic and my navigation skills went out the door today.

Upon arriving at Hotel Welcome we checked into the Egyptian room. Wow. I feel like Cleopatra in this room. So beautiful I will post pictures of the toom.

After a jacuzzi we set out on the town and found the Grand Place and enjoyed espresso, croquettes and people watching while admiring the buildings surrounding this most beautiful square. Of course I also found chocolate shop after chocolate shop and the free samples. We walked through the gallery that reminded me of the Ceasar Forum shops in Vegas with the fake sky roof. A nap was needed and we headed back to the hotel room. Now we are on our second discovery walk. First must is to stop st this busy pizza shop and sit outside on the sidewalk. Au revoir for now.
