LONDON DAY 2
This was a royal day. We took a walk through St. James Park and decided to stop and say hi to the Queen at Buckingham palace. Unfortunately she was not there as she is on vacation in Scotland. After our Royal Palace tour we Uber back to the hotel. Next on our list was The Churchill War rooms where he hid out and planned the D-day invasion during WWII. After this tour it was time for High Tea. We we fortunate to get in at Harrods with no reservations. Wow what a department store. It beats out Sax Fifth Avenue by far. We had little sandwich, scones, little cakes and tried about 4 or 5 different teas. It was not enough food for David so he ordered Shepherds pie. It was delicious! You definitely pay for the ambience and people watching as the High Tea came at a high price of 59 pounds ($63.00)approximately. We sat there for close to two hours and really enjoyed ourselves (and watching everyone eles). Its in a very exclusive area called Knightsbridge. I will say I felt like I was in the middle east with the women all wearing hijabs. At night we took the clipper boat ferry for a walk around Greenwich. A very quaint town where the naval academy is located.
Today we are hopping on the Eurostar train to the City of Lights and Love to celebrate David’s 68th birthday tomorrow.
