THE CROWN JEWELS
Yesterday we walked and walked and walked. I don’t think my legs have ever been this sore!. The morning started with a guided bus tour of London/Westminister cities. A stop in front of Buckingham palace to take pictures and a stop at St. Paul’s church. Wow.
The afternoon we took the clipper taxi on the Thames river to The Tower Bridge. We walked along the wharf across the bridge to the Tower of London. Watching the guards do their ceremonial change was amazing. However for me the crown jewels were surreal. I saw the largest diamond I’ve ever seen along with the many crowns. I tried to put the crown on my head but then I would of been beheaded.
Dinner was in Trafalgar square at a Mediterranean restaurant. Lots of street performers and people just buzzing around made a wonderful atmosphere. We treated ourselves to s massage after dinner downstairs in this dungeon like building. Too tired to walk back to our hotel we took a bicycle taxi back.
Today is Buckingham palace, Churchill war rooms and Harrods for high tea.
