THE FRENCH COUNTRYSIDE

The first obstacle was navigating David out of Paris with all the crazy drivers. We finally found the A4 which is their highway in France. After a couple of hours in the hot and humid weather we stopped for lunch at the gas station. There is a like a food court here where we had a sandwich on a baguette. It was also time to find somewhere for the night.

40 minutes later off the beaten path we arrived at the bed and breakfast. They gave a delicious dinner of lasagna, salad and a hot cheese plate for me. It is beautiful here and waking up to chickens outside. So many quaint little villages with churches and cemeteries. Its sad to think the Germans took over this beautiful land on their way to capturing Paris in the war. Today we are off to either Koblenz or Heidelberg or Strasbourg or Luxembourg. Not sure where we will get lost. All I know is I’m happy there is a Starbucks at this gas station. Au revoir.
